Number Six - House for sale

The House

No6 is a spacious house built in the traditional way in the 1920's at the time of Lord Leverhulme. Since I bought the house a few years ago I have improved and decorated it to make it a comfortable place to be and enjoy. The large garden is a haven on windswept Harris, where trees are rare and it is a pleasant place to sit on a sunny day. Situated on the 'Terrace' just off the main road, the house looks to the Ob and the Sea beyond to Uist at the front and the hills and lochs of South Harris to the rear.

DOWNSTAIRS

The Sitting/ dining room is a comfortable sunny room with an open fire. It It also features an open plan wooden staircase.

There is a large double bedroom with views to the front and back gardens, a small room (used as an office) and a bathroom.

The Kitchen is traditional with a solid fuel Rayburn.

There is a Garage and store-room.

UPSTAIRS

There is a large room currently used as a workroom/ studio which could be a lounge or bedroom. It has great light and outstanding views of Uist to the South and the hills and lochs to the West and North.

The Double room is a lovely sunny room looking out to the South Harris hills and lochs, over the garden and towards the sunset. Guests quite often stayed in their room all evening enjoying the quiet and the lovely night skies.

The Single rooms are individually decorated and one room enjoys the same views as the double room. The other looks out over the village to the Ob and beyond to the hills of North Uist. The ferry can be spotted leaving Berneray on a clear day.

The Bathroom is easily accessible for all rooms, none of which are en-suite. There is a deep old fashioned bath and electric shower.
